Slips of the tongue

Slips of the tongue provide an open window to unconscious representations and processes in speech production. This study is a report on naturally occurring errors in spontaneous speech. It describes the types of slips which arise, the constraints that govern the arousal of these errors, and how speakers repair the slips they commit. A model of speech production is then proposed based on the result of these investigations.
