Living in a Less than Perfect World

The essays concern issues such as collective responsibility, the ethics of minority protection, social criticism, the ethics of population policies, and freedom of speech. A common theme in the essays is that they all address the so-called non-ideal theory. The point is not to ask what kind of a world would be morally speaking a perfect one, but to study how to proceed in a world which is bound to be less than perfect.
