Despite political and social upheavals and finally war, translators, committees and Bible societies produced first translations of the whole Bible in Kwanyama and Kwangali and a new version in Ndonga between 1954 and 1987 in presentday Namibia. Rev. Pauli Laukkanen follows the history of these translation projects in this study. He also discusses the application of translation methods.
