Preconditions for Active Transfer in Learning Processes

In modern rapidly changing society human beings need a readiness to learn strategies which are required for life-long learning. The critical question is how we should take into consideration the possibilities of human beings to cope as members of a changing society in a meaningful way. Active transfer is one of the most important features of readiness to learn. The doctoral thesis of Tiina Soini presents a model for the succesful application of complex theories and results in different scientific domains (pedagogy, psychology, sociology and philosophy) to the analysis of relevant problems in real-life contexts.
