The Scandinavian political party has been more open for adaptation from the environment than to freeze its organization from change. The proportional party system in Scandinavia forces the parties to adapt rather than to take risks in proposing radical institutional changes in the electoral system. Therefore, freezing parties are rare because they cannot persist in the long run. Although the three-front parties have been successful they have lost important domains of influence.
