This book offers a new approach to architectural history connecting two points of view, architecture and business management. In addition to the productive target of factory buildings, business leaders have intentionally used their built environment as the official face of their companies. In this study, buildings are interpreted as a means of communication and signs of business activities. Three industrial companies and their building activities in Finland from the 1940s and 1950s offer material for an extensive analysis.
